Waste Heat Generation

Turn Your Steam or Exhaust Waste Into Energy!

Waste heat generation is a tremendous way to produce power in your facility from the by-product of your existing mechanical processes. Both steam condensate or gaseous exhaust can be used to excite the patented turbine from Electratherm.

If you would like to find out more about this exciting opportunity and see if your facility would qualify for the Electratherm WHG please fill out the following questionnaire.  (LINK)

ECS has entered into a partnership with Electratherm and Yorkshire Energy to provide no or low capital design and install Waste Heat-Generation Plants that produce energy from waste and improve the bottom line.

WHG Benefits:

Green Power Generation by capturing the waste heat from a process you are already  using

No Capital Investment as the installation is paid for through Power Purchase Agreement, or PPA.  The power generated by the WHG is billed monthly, like a little utility company on site.

Immediate energy savings from on-site generation – reduce your utility bills by using the power you generate on site

Reduced water consumption in facilities that cool steam condensate with fresh water

How WHG Works:

The Waste Hat Generator from Electra-Therm combines traditional components with patented, cutting-edge technology to create electricity from waste heat. ElectraTherm power systems use a closed-loop organic Rankine cycle (ORC) to create pressure by boiling EPA-approved chemical working fluids into gas. The gas expands in a one way system and turns a patented Twin Screw Expander, which drives a generator to ultimately put out electricity.

Historically, ORCs incorporating turbo-expanders have not been commercially viable in sizes less than 1MW. By replacing turbo-expanders with ElectraTherm's patented, robust, low-cost Twin Screw Expander, users benefit from short payback on systems that provide unattended operation and negligible maintenance.

Added Value:

In addition to the benefits above ECS offers a bundled product package for your facility.

When you approve a Waste Heat Generator ECS will provide lighting, controls and HVAC upgrades as part of the PPA.  The power purchase agreement can include a number of upgrades for your facility.

With one agreement you can:

Install Waste Heat Generator

Upgrade mechanicals

Upgrade lighting and lighting controls
